Michael Daniels

Arlene David

Marital status: Committed Relationship
Children: 2
Occupation: Retired
Comment:  I moved to G.P. in 1961 so I was one of the "newcomers".  After graduation, I attended Western Michigan Univ and graduated in 1967 with a B.S. degree.  I attended Wayne State for graduate school. I taught at Ottawa J.H.S. in St. Clair Shores for four years....it just wasn't the career path I wanted.  Having said that, I truly admire all the teachers who are devoted to their work.  I married in 1967, had two children and after they were old enough, went back to work--mostly in sales.  After twenty-three years of marriage, I became a statistic in the divorce category.  My favorite job was working at Morley Candy Makers (who wouldn't love working for a chocolate company?).  I stayed there for nine years until the fundraising division downsized in 2005, went back to school to become a Certified Pharmacy Tech and worked at CVS for three years. (My Dad, Grandfather, and Great-grandfather were all pharmacists....I should have done that the first time around!!)  I have bought and renovated three "vintage" homes ranging in age from 85-112 years.  One of them was featured in a four-page spread in the Old House Journal, Jan-Feb 2002.
Most memorable trip:  Windjammer Cruise on a four masted ship in 2001.  I've also gone white-water rafting in Pennsylvania and continue to enjoy solo camping and, of course, camping with friends.  I prefer to travel in the U.S. and have visited 40 states. I volunteer at my church and at Second Hand Rose (a charity store that benefits victims of domestic abuse).  My favorite saying:  "Life is short, eat dessert first".  My best to all of you.
Number of grandchildren (names optional): two
