Comment:
I am so fortunate to have had a very interesting life of study and travel. Now formally retired from teaching mathematics, I am a mathematical quilter. I travel the world showing the quilts, PowerPoint presentations on the quilts, and workshops. I began using mathematical quilts in the early l980's in my classroom. Mathematical Quilts and More Mathematical Quilts are two books I have co-authored. I alternate between Indianapolis in the summer and Sarasota in the winter. I enjoy visitors--especially high school classmates!

Fifty year reunion coming up. Incredible!!! Hope to come After raising 3 beautiful children, got divorced. Started to do the things I wanted to accomplish. Tennis was on top of the list. Then getting a degree with title. After 2 years of college decided to become a nurse. What a great occupation. Love it. Biggist passion right now is swing dancing. Great for the social aspect , music plus the exercise. That's enough about me. Hope to hear from you next time. Blessing to all of you. |

Right at the end of my sophmore year at GPHS my Dad took a job at Boeing so we moved to Seattle. I finished my last two years of HS at Sammamish HS in Bellevue, WA. I was fortunate enough to get a one-year scholarship to MIT and had a wonderful year in Boston, but the scholarship was not renewable and I could not afford to pay the tuition without it. So I finished my last three years of college at the University of Washington in Seattle, close to home. I landed a summer intern job at Boeing in 1965, between my sophmore and junior years. When fall came I managed to convert to part-time permanent status. After graduation Boeing gave me a raise that exceeded all of the other offers that I received so I stayed there. And I'm still there as I write this but I will finally retire next month after 46 1/2 years (it's Nov. 2011 now). I married a wonderful woman in 1979 (first marriage didn't work out) and there are two children (hers), six grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren. My wife Rebecca and I love to travel. She retired from Boeing 12 years ago and had a photography business for several years so she takes fabulous vacation pictures. And we spend a lot of time with family, many of the kids, grandkids, nieces and nephews are local. And I have a lot of fun collecting and using fountain pens. I have close to four hundred now and am a member of the Seattle Pen Club as well as the Pen Collectors of America. |

I spent most of my career in the printing business in sales and marketing. I retired in 2006 from Tweddle Litho Company as VP Sales and Marketing. After retiring, we moved to Arizona where we enjoyed the change of climate from Michigan. We do a lot of traveling but when not traveling, we enjoy hiking, biking, reading, and a lot of golf.
Moved to San Antonio in 2013 to be closer to family and are loving every minute of it. Hope to see you all at the 60th reunion (if we have one). Best regards, Doug |

I loved high school and from GPHS went to U of M., graduating in '67. I met John there, we married, and I taught Speech Therapy in Belleville until he finished Law School. We then moved to NYC for a little more than six years. John is still working at Dickinson Wright as a Patent Attorney. Our son, John, works with him. Our second son, Ken, is a JAG Major in the Air Force. He is the Assistant to the Head of the JAG Core, writing speeches for him and organizing his schedule. Our youngest son, Greg is a Head and Neck Surgeon in Grand Rapids. All are U of M grads. We love to travel, play golf and tennis. We have two Havanese dogs to keep us company at home. We have enjoyed are life and feel blessed to have had a chance at such a good education. We enjoy our grandchildren and love to stay active. Can't wait to catch up with you all. |
