Comment:
Shortly following high school, I married my high school sweetheart, Audrey Bardy ('63) and we lived in Hamtramck, Detroit and Grosse Pointe Farms, raising two children, Anne Michelle and Chris. I studied history and the physical sciences both at Washington University in St. Louis and Wayne State University here in Detroit.

The job market being what it was at the time and given a solid chemistry background, I started my work life at the Michigan Cancer Foundation, precursor to Karamanos, here in Detroit. In the middle of a takeover attempt, I left and began working on pianos, first for Hudson's, then American Music Stores, which included Grinnells, where I was responsible for technical service on Steinway pianos for the entire chain of more than forty stores from Denver to Raleigh.  Leaving shortly before its bankruptcy in 1977, I ran my own retail store and was the technician for the Detroit Symphony Orchestra, both for about twenty years.  Today, I operate out of a workshop in Royal Oak, servicing, moving and renting pianos out for the concert stage.

Audrey and I divorced in '89 and I eventually married Molly Drake MacDonald (GPHS '69) in 2002.  We have lived in Beverly Hills, Michigan, ever since, along with varying numbers of her five children.  For a short time, we were empty nesters; we've tried to child-proof the house but they keep coming back!

In 2006, Molly and I started a non-profit, The Pink Fund, which provides financial assistance to breast cancer patients in treatment who have lost their stream of income and need help with monthly expenses -- house and car payments, insurance premiums, and utility bills.  We started out in Michigan and now we cover all fifty states.

Looking forward to seeing many of you at the reunion!  Many thanks to Paul Rentenbach for coordinating all this information.
