I got my B.A., M.A., and Ph.D. in Mathematics at Michigan State University. I then taught Mathematics and Computer Science at Grand Valley State University for 33 years. I spent 8 years as chair of the department of Mathematics and Statistics. While at Michigan State, I met and married, Judy. We have been married for 44 years. We have a son, Alex, who is 42, and a daughter, Tamara, who is 38. We have three terrific grandchildren: Ashton, who is 14, Alyssa, who is 12, and Camden, who is 6. I write Computer Science textbooks. I also play the organ. I am the organist at First Congregational Church in Charlevoix, Michigan, from late May to early October, when we live in Petoskey. I am the organist at Chapel On The Hill in Seminole, Florida (near St. Petersburg) from late October to early May, when we live in Clearwater. I have produced two organ CDs, Christmas Organ Music by Request and Organ Favorites by Request. I just produced my first organ DVD, Christmas and Other Organ Favorites. I also have four organ videos on YouTube which can be found by searching for Phil Pratt Organ. |
