Comment: I still live in Springfield, Illinois, in a home we built on a small lake. We are fortunate to have six grandchildren, three boys and three girls, and all live close. Denny and I have been retired for 17 years! We traveled a lot and volunteered with many different organizations and our church. Due to my husband's back problems, he doesn't travel much now, except when we leave for Florida in the winter. I visit with my sister who lives in Whittier, California, and my cousin in Sarasota, Florida. The most rewarding thing I've done so far is volunteering for Hospice. You definitely receive much more than you give! I didn'tknow very many of while attending Grosse Pointe High, but I'm enjoying the update of where you are now. | |

Thanks for the great website. It's fun to see the "then" and "now" pictures. I need to figure out how to get a FB pic to this site. Ah, technology! I'll ask my 2 year old grandaughter! I graduated from CMU and taught Spec. Ed. in Livonia (Clarenceville) while my husband finished his engineering degree at Wayne State. Even though he graduated GPHS in '62, we didn't know each other until a summer job at the Woods Park. We've been married 45 years and have two great kids. I enjoyed staying home with them and getting involved in school, church and community activities in our town of Brighton. It was a wonderful place to raise a family! I taught at Brighton High School from 1990 until I retired in 2007. Denny retired as well, but hated it and has his own business now in our new town of Fenton. I am very active in the grandparenting business and am blessed to have them in the same town. Our favorite travel spot is CO where our son lives and works for an advertising agency in Denver (Integer Group). I hope we make the 50th as it would be so fun to see all your faces in person! April, 2012 Some of you may remember that my Dad, Don Bamberger, taught at Brownell. He also coached some of you on the Brownell football team. In the early 50's my dad taught at GPHS and then moved to Pierce and finally Brownell when it opened. He taught Industrial Arts and Art. He retired from G.P. in the late 60's and then taught another 20 plus years in Wisconsin. He even subbed into his 80's. He died of cancer in 2001 and considered it life's greatest adventure. if you remember his classroom, I would love to hear from you. |
